March 1,

Yesterday was a full moon, The day was bittersweet for us. The sap ran yeah!!!! 500 gallons of sap to fire up the sugarhouse. A grateful distraction for the sad event that precipitated it.

Many of you know our faithful border collie Jed. Jed is shy  by a week or so of his 15th birthday. Old for a border collie. Last night our faithful friend, companion, and working dog went home. He has been failing with age for a year or so. The last few weeks more intensely. Last eve it was apparent that he had suffered stroke like symptoms. He has been healthy up until now. It was with great sorrow that we said our goodbyes, with love and gratitude for every single day he was in our lives. This morning he was buried in the top of the back pasture where he liked to lay and watch the activities of the pasture. Near the sugar house.

As the activity in the sugar house heightens, many thoughts turn to Jed. Always in our hearts. His likeness remains forever on the farmstand mural.

Deer Season is under way.

My household has been up really early to get chores out of the way, then they head to the woods. Olivia and I are enjoying time with the women in our family! brunch with grandma ( my mom) and my three sisters and then some!!

Hadley and the boys are taking a little well deserved time to hunt.

Later today we will work on the winter markets scheduled for next weekend. Check out the activity at our house next weekend. The turkey processing is quite hum of activity!
